WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. upgrade item is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones
Upgrades are items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is even if those items are from an entirely different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones which are a general upgrade currency available to all players, or crests, which are more specific and used to upgrade specific item levels. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
Using these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
